Tyeshia Halsell-Richards, PA-C, MPH, MSPAS
Tyeshia (Tye) is a Louisville, Kentucky native and an alumnus of Louisville Central High School. She graduated from Kentucky State University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Tyeshia went on to earn her Master’s degree in Public Health, and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies & Gerontology Certificate from the University of Kentucky.
She began her career as a Physician Assistant, joining Dr. Gaines & Associates in 2008. Tyeshia loves working with children/adolescents and their families as a Primary Care Provider (PCP). Her area of particular interest involves the treatment and education of Women’s Health and wellness and Sexually Transmitted Infections.
Tyeshia currently serves as a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, (AAPA), Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, (KAPA), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Tyeshia currently serves as a preceptor for the Physician Assistant programs for the University of Kentucky, Sullivan University, and Spalding University.
Tyeshia and her husband Ronnie have two children; Ryane and Ronnie Jr. She enjoys shopping, skating, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Dorothy E. Thomas, MD, FAAP
Dr. Thomas is a North Carolina native. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics with over 20 years of experience in pediatric care. Dr. Thomas graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1985 after the completion of her residency at the Charlotte Memorial & Medical Center. In 1989, she relocated to Louisville, KY to begin her career at Dr. Gaines & Associates. She has a passion for pediatrics and providing quality care to her patients. She is a board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her special interests include the treatment of asthma, ADHD and preventive care.
Dr. Thomas currently serves as a member of Alpha Kappa, Alpha Sorority, Inc., Links Inc., Greater Louisville Medical Society, Falls City Medical Society, National Medical Association and American Academy Of Pediatrics.
Currently, she serves as a preceptor for the Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) programs for the University of Kentucky and for Sullivan University and Spalding University. She enjoys dancing, walking, reading and trying new recipes.
Jacquee McNear, PA-C, MS, MSPAS
Jacquee is a Frankfort, Kentucky native. She graduated from the University of Louisville receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2009, and her Master of Science in Physiology & Biophysics in 2013. Jacquee went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2018 from the University of Kentucky.
Jacquee is extremely excited to have recently joined Dr. Gaines & Associates. Her professional goal is to promote patients’ overall health by helping to make the transition from reactive treatment to preventative care.
Jacquee currently serves as a member of Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA) and American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
In her spare time, Jacquee enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading and watching movies.
